Winemaking: Grapes are hand harvested and crushed by foot. Fermented in plastic water tanks outside the winery. 2 week maceration before ambient fermentation. Aged in old French oak barrels. Unfined, unfiltered and very small amount of sulphur added.
Pairs very well with red meats.
Pol Andsnes is the winemaker who has set out to make new age wines from a region with great history. He is known for using rare red grapes and skin contact whites with well known varieties. Here he has used the legend of Mendoza (Malbec) and create a wine with incredible balance of energy and finesse. Taken from Eastern-facing vineyards on slopes coming down from the Andes.
