Vinification: Whole bunch, Semi-Carbonic maceration for 8 days in closed tanks. Indigenous Yeasts used and matured in 228L and 500L old French oak barrels for 9 months and then a further month in stainless steel. Unfined and unfiltered.
Syrah is the backbone of this blend contributing structure and freshness. Cinsault adds lots of vibrant red fruits and Mourvedre brings the great tannin structure and darker fruits.
Jurgen Gouws has worked for many great winemakers around the world including 4 years with Craig Hawkins but since 2015 has solely concentrated on Intellego and rents vineyards for his project. The vineyard the grapes come from has a cooler climate and facing South East on granite soils.
