Manual harvest, fermented in terracotta. Natural yeasts used, extend maceration on skins. 6 months in total but not an overpowering orange wine!

Founded in 2007 by John Wurdeman and Gela Patalishvili, Pheasant’s Tears aims to revive Georgian winemaking traditions. The vineyard stretches across the slopes of Kiziqi province, overlooking the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains. Located near Tibaani and the 6th-century St. Stephen Monastery, Pheasant’s Tears has 15 hectares of vines, with more being planted, and focuses on rare white grape varieties in Tibaani. Adjara, located on the southeast coast of the Black Sea and extending into the Lesser Caucasus' Mesketi range, features a scenic vineyard in the mountains, surrounded by dense forest. This semi-tropical, rainy region also grows tea, citrus, and tobacco.
